<li>Missy Bageant has resigned as Secretary, effective immediately.  LBMA Bylaws (Item VII, Section 3) dictate an officer or director must fill the position until the next regular election.  The Board will resolve this at their April 20<sup>th</sup> meeting.</li>

<p><strong>COMMITTEE REPORTS  <em> </em><em></em></strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Doggie Olympic Games. </strong> Keleigh Schwartz reported that Mollie couldn’t attend due to a work conflict.  The new website is nearly ready to launch and a volunteers meeting is on the close horizon.</li>
<li><strong>Sandsations</strong>.  Ragan Andrew reported that new chairs Jenny &amp; Marty from Aloha Charlie’s are working on getting master’s teams, and on a brochure.  They need volunteers!</li>
<li><strong>Jake’s Birthday</strong>.  Wendy Murry is on vacation this week; Keleigh Schwartz reported that everything is on schedule.</li>
<li>Kite Festival. Jane Holeman noted the foreign guests are booked, one from Germany and one from Japan.  Information about both can be found on <a href="http://kitefestival.com" target="_blank">kitefestival.com </a>as well as the new <a href="http://facebook.com/kitefest" target="_blank">facebook.com/kitefest</a>.  This year’s poster was done by Don Nesbitt and will be available for purchase in about a week.</li>
<li><strong>Beach To Chowder.</strong> Sherry Hash said registration is online this year at <a href="http://beachtochowder.com" target="_blank">beachtochowder.com</a>.  The timing equipment is on its way.  An ad will come out on 4/15 in NW Runner magazine and online.  Some challenges in separating the 5/10K Walk/Run from the Marathon, but they’re working it out.</li>
<li><strong>Holidays at the Beach</strong>.  Holly Beller said a logistics meeting would be happening soon.  Santa will be in the Loyalty Days Parade on his motor-trike and at the Banquet (not in costume).</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>OTHER REPORTS</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Kite Museum</strong>.  Kay Buesing reported on a busy spring break.  The treasure hunt, culminating in passing out merchant coupons has been very successful.  <a href="http://specialsforsoldiers.com" target="_blank">Specials for Soldiers</a> featured the Museum in this week’s ad in The Ranger.  Seattle Times sent a reporter and a story is expected in the 4/29 issue.</li>
<li><strong>Loyalty Days</strong>. Bob Andrew noted the event is in 30 days.  Almost all the tables are sold for the banquet and everything is on track.  Trophies are currently on display at Bank of Pacific and Great NW Federal Credit Union and will rotate to Key Bank and other locations with security cameras. Veteran’s Field, next to the Police Station, is having concrete work done on which the bell will be placed, and 7 flag poles have been ordered.</li>
<li><strong>Surf Perch Derby</strong>. Dale Jacobson is chair for the first year. Flyers are out; the event is always the Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend, which is May 19 this year.  Prize money has been increased.</li>
<li><strong>SummerFest</strong>. Ragan Andrew passed out rack cards with the summer schedule. And reported on information she had gotten at the Washington Tourism Alliance meeting.</li>
<li><strong>Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau.</strong> Holly Bellar reported on statistics indicating visitation to the Visitors Bureau building is up over 2011.  60% of visitors are from WA while 30% are from OR.  New Director started work this week; a reception will soon be held for Andi Day.  Volunteers are needed.</li>
<li><strong>Liaison to Long Beach City Council.</strong>  Steven reported that Obie’s is coming down on Thursday.  The new rehab center will be ready to open toward the end of this month.  The new Performing Arts Center at 6<sup>th</sup> N and Pacific (formerly Wild Hair) is open.  Lightship Restaurant is moving into the Chautauqua Lodge facility and Scapece is opening in its place mid-April.  Gayle Borchard said new Design Guidelines have been completed and are up for Council approval at their next meeting.</li>
<li><strong>City Lodging Tax Advisory</strong> Committee has been renamed “Long Beach Marketing Committee”.  Craig Smith echoed that Specials For Soldiers needs more merchant participation.  Send offers, certificates, questions to military@funbeach.com</li>
<li><strong>Liaison to Ocean Park, Ilwaco</strong>.  Laura Price gave a detailed report which will be posted to the LongBeachMerchants.com site soon with dates and other information.</li>
<li><strong>Farmer’s Market.</strong> Gayle Borchard said the market will open May 10<sup>th</sup>, with a 3-6pm schedule this year.  14 vendors are confirmed.  Hot food will be available on site.  Manager Sarah Shapiro is looking for sponsors.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>ANNOUNCEMENTS </strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Correspondence</strong>.  Steven Linhart read a request he had received to distribute political flyers at events, and his response which said our events are non-partisan and so no, but they could distribute in public areas away from the events.</li>
<li><strong>Project Safe Haven.</strong>  Gayle Borchard asked merchants to write letters of support for this model Tsunami Sand Dune project.  Letters can be sent to City Hall at PO Box 310, Long Beach, WA 98631.  Questions to Gayle at 360-642-4421.</li>
<li><strong>New Merchant Deb Sterling</strong> introduced herself and her company, Sterling Concepts, which does training and facilitation projects.  She offers discounts to locals. She passed a flyer for a May 3<sup>rd</sup> Marketing Mojo workshop, inviting all to attend and offering $25 off the $149 entry fee.</li>
<li><strong>Food4Kids Backpack Program.</strong>  Jim Tweedie passed out flyers on a fundraising dinner at the Shelburne on 4/22.  He noted that about half of the kids at LB Elementary are on the subsidized meal program, and about half of those are enrolled in the backpack program, which sends food home over the weekend for kids.  Sponsorship, as well as donations of cash, food, and time are all welcome.</li>
<li><strong>Peninsula Sheet Metal</strong> is closing as an independent business and moving back under the umbrella of Active Enterprises, per Dale Jacobson</li>
<li><strong>Gina with Traveler’s Companion</strong> apologized for not showing up twice when on the LBMA meeting agenda.  Deadline for ads in in 2 weeks.  Circulation is 80K.</li>
<li><strong>Peninsula Arts Association</strong> has taken over the “old kite museum” building on 3<sup>rd</sup> N and Ocean Beach Boulevard, according to Gene Miles.  Art events will take place at the adjacent Depot Building.</li>
<li><strong>The Washington Tourism Alliance</strong> passed out $400 bills at their recent summit.  Ragan Andrew read tourism facts from the back of one and explained that tourism revenue in Washington equates to $400 per resident.</li>

<li><strong>Jake’s Birthday [<em>Wendy Murry</em>]</strong> Took Fake Jake to Miss Yard Bird pageant making a relationship with them and getting promoting the festival.</li>
<li><strong>Kite Festival [<em>Jane Holman</em>]</strong> it’s going forward, everything on schedule, shirts are almost done, and everything is on track.</li>
<li><strong>Beach to Chowder Run/Walk  [<em>Jeff Harrell/Sherry Hash</em>]</strong> New timing equipment is coming in and will enhance the race, racer will have a chip and it will help with time keeping and where they are in the race. Hitch in the website, the folks that take care of the actual website has not separated the two events.</li>
<li><strong>Holidays at the Beach [<em>Holly Beller</em>]</strong> app for Santa to be in the loyalty day parade, getting winner of the name the sea serpent winner set up at the Adrift hotel.</li>

<p><strong>OTHER REPORTS</strong></p>

<li><strong>Kite Museum [<em>Kay Buesing</em>]</strong> Spring breaks begin at the end of March, Oregon 1<sup>st</sup> week of the 24<sup>th</sup>- then WA and Idaho 1<sup>st</sup> week of April.  Museum Kite family fun, two line kite flyers down at the beach on the 24<sup>th</sup>, during the week when the families come in and play a guessing game with the museum families got coupons after playing the game. Bead shops, quilt store, scoopers, have given coupons 5 businesses in all so far. The families got a little coupon book.  Spring break clam tide on the 24<sup>th</sup> and spring break, and Easter is a clam tide as well.</li>
<li><strong>Loyalty Days [<em>Bob Andrew</em>] </strong>may 4<sup>th</sup>, 5<sup>th</sup>, 6<sup>th</sup>, guest speaker is Pres. Adams, LTAC is doing a promotion for military families. Half bans available for $20 only has a dozen of them first come first serve, good for loyalty days. Applications coming in strong, lots of bands, dignitaries, having problems getting the application to work on the website working with Keilgh, schedual of events is at the printers, banquet sponsor ship $225 per a table, new volunteers coming in to help and relieve some of the.</li>
<li><strong>Surf Perch Derby [<em>Dale Jacobson</em>] </strong>no report<strong></strong></li>
<li><strong>SummerFest [<em>Ragan Andrew</em>]</strong> Working on solidifying schedule for summerfest, nailed in stone by the end of next week.  Ask about music for run. Events information Washington calendar, to be a member, OP has 6 events listed in there, kite festival is the only one in there for LB.  LBMA do a member ship and then a do an add as a whole. VB has these calendars to look at if you want to see one. Primer for festival and events for people steeping into a new event or taking one over, it has an overview of helpful information, it is a very rough draft at this time but has multiple possibilities.</li>
<li><strong>Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau [<em>Holly Beller</em>]</strong> Karl  is head of the tsunami debris, delayed on the board till a new, in the news side bar on funbeach it is part of the press about the peninsula, Google load time has changed if it loads slow Google won’t give you a rank, 63,000 visits to the website, panned out to partner to member sites, WORK ON YOUR WEBSITES and keep them updated. The festival websites updating make sure the dates are correct!!!! Keep them up to date!</li>
<li><strong>Liaison to Long Beach City Council [<em>Steven Linhart</em>]</strong> Council meeting is Monday, hope to see everyone there so they know what is going on. City staff is ready for the festival season to start. If interested in Having David Glason (fire chief) walk through and doing a lay out for the fire department to help them fight the fire if something was going to happen. Dog Park? Still in the works, looking for a location still, original location is owned by the school district and they are not interested in having something like that on that location.  Monday night they have been working with the Pen Art Ass, using part of the old kite museum.</li>
<li><strong>City Lodging Tax Advisory Committee [<em>Craig Smith</em>]</strong> specials for soliders, instead of funding it through Jan.  it would be till September. Still looking for more businesses to participate in this program.</li>
<li><strong>Liaison to Ocean Park, Ilwaco [<em>Laura Price</em>] </strong>OP: Steven talked about SFS and was recived well, guest speaker from big brothers big sisters con3783 9091 Jessica or OP Chamber. 81 members currently, sent out 283 post cards for Garlic fest, Rod run Beach barons are now excepting cars 30 years or older.    Lodging dollars to be taking away from the area, parks department in a amdment to the Crss take all of the parks LTAC and putting it in a kitty and …..Will be sending out an email. ILWACO joined members ship with the WA Alliance, Pet wearing vests to collect money for the fireworks, Saturday market is ahead of schedual, clint carter is putting together a blues package for the blues conference in Portland. An odd fellow building is being talked about for the city use. Phone scam to collect money on payday loans.</li>

<li>Doggie Olympic Games: [<em>Mollie</em>]  Working with Beachdog.com on updating the website, also working with Beachdog.com on new rackcards, meeting with Skookum Surf to discuss adding Dog Surfing as a fun category for the Olympics, Working on getting sponsors and donations for goody bags for dogs and parents, Working with local advertisers in Astoria and also branching out to Portland and Seattle for advertising to draw folks in for the Olympics.</li>
<li>SandSations :  [<em>IN NEED OF A CHAIRPERSON</em>] call from Lighthouse Ocean Front Resort will be the sponsor this year!  Tressla Olson is the contact person.</li>
<li>Jake’s Birthday [<em>Wendy Murry</em>] Rebel Rodz Magazine has picked up the event again, FREE media coverage! Everything else on schedual.</li>
<li>Kite Festival [<em>Jane Holman</em>] Poster from last year by Don Nisbett, vendors are coming in already</li>
<li>Beach to Chowder Run/Walk  [<em>Jeff Harrell</em>/ <em>Sherry Hash</em>] added $5 to the half marathon, new timing system will be ordered in the next week or so.  Timing system cost a little bit of money but it will pay for itself in the next year.</li>
<li>Holidays at the Beach [<em>Holly Beller</em>] nothing new to report, social media out there.</li>

<li>Kite Museum [<em>Kay Buesing</em>] Windless kite coverage by The daily Astorian….a large article. Asian celebration this weekend, because of the e-letter they got a gentlemen from Germany send a picture from when he visited Bali and another kite. 3 large kinds of kites that are on display at the WKM. Sat and Sun shadow puppets show about bats also this weekend. Display will be there till March 26<sup>th</sup>!</li>
<li>Loyalty Days [<em>Bob Andrew</em>]<strong> </strong>President John Adams as speaker this year.  Working on schedule of events, 6 bands already confirmed, reminder notice has gone out. 3<sup>rd</sup> cuts are out and in all of their mailings so far this year. Memorial with flag plaza and liberty bell has been approved to go on city property on Veterans Field (aka funland field)…southeast corner of the property. Deadline for parade app is April 15<sup>th</sup>, Theme Fallen and Not Forgotten/ Special Forces of each branch of the services.</li>
<li>Surf Perch Derby [<em>Dale Jacobson</em>] in contact with Al Harper who ran it for years and getting tips from him. Trying to get everything done by the end of this month. The perch is the 1<sup>st</sup> Saturday AFTER mother’s day.</li>
<li>SummerFest [<em>Ragan Andrew</em>] Nothing to report at this time</li>
<li>Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau [<em>Holly Beller</em>] closed the application process for Director. Next meeting is the second Tuesday of this month (9<sup>th</sup>)</li>
<li>Liaison to Long Beach City Council [<em>Steven Linhart</em>] A special fund for the peninsula for advertising from the LTAC target a marketing campaign for march April and may…need business name and phone number what you are willing to offer as a discount.  Discount is good for march, April , may….it is up to you on how you want to work the discount. It is FREE! Email address to send it  <a href="mailto:penmildisc@gmail.com">penmildisc@gmail.com</a> does not have to be a member of the LBMA  or VB. The campaign is to target Military families with a valid Military ID. Keilgh and Mike Litawa are working on the advertising.  2 hotels on board who are willing to discount 15%</li>
<li>City Lodging Tax Advisory Committee Obbies….court awards the rights to demo the building. Everything above the ground will be removed.</li>
<li>Liaison to Ocean Park, Ilwaco [<em>Laura Price</em>]  Ilwaco new board John Shambo membership letters went out dues will be moved up to $100 and will also allow individual members. Pen players little Mary Sunshine, valentines dance 70’s theme, water will return to a water in out billing system. OP: food bank simple questers 2500 lbs. of food on first pick up. Executive committee to open forum to discuss the garlic vendors. YouTube video of the area. Watch computers due to a surge of viruses going out. Bunco nights fund food for kids held at the LB grange…..</li>
<li>Farmers Market: Sheryl Sherpero the new director, she is from OP, she is at a conference right now. We have a stage but no money to pay for entertainment. Onsite hot food with requirements. Self packaged shelf stable products. Friday before mother’s day till Labor Day.</li>

<li>SandSations :  STILL Looking for a chair for Sandsations! Not sure what will happen to this event if there is not a chair to head this event. The chairs job is to fundraise for prizes and to pay the sand builders and to interact with the committee</li>
<li>Jake’s Birthday [Wendy Murry] Meeting on Monday to start planning</li>
<li>Kite Festival [Jane Holman] Merry is working on vendors applications that are already coming in.</li>
<li>Beach to Chowder Run/Walk  [Sherry Hash] Nothing new since the last LBMA meeting</li>
<li>Holidays at the Beach [Holly Beller] Winner of the naming contest was choosen; the winner will be here next year as the Guest of honor. Cecile is the winning name for the Sea serpent</li>

<li>Kite Museum [Kay Buesing] Next weekend Indoor kite flying at LB school on Friday and Saturday. Longest going indoor kite flying in the united states 11 years. City of LB, Kite Shoppe from Vancouver, OBSD, Super 8 . Feb 4<sup>th</sup> and 5<sup>th</sup> Chinese New Year and Chinese year and cultural event Bali is the focus. Showing their three main kites and they are huge! Also has sponsorship from humanity out of Vancouver. Over 10,000 people go through it, 50 miles or over away the majority of the visitors.  Spring Break starts March 25<sup>th</sup> and then for the next 5 weeks. Will be looking for coupons to give out to the guest to local merchants shops.</li>
<li>Loyalty Days [Bob Andrew]<strong> </strong>1st meeting on Tuesday at 2pm at the Chinook observer, more info to come after that.</li>
<li>Surf Perch Derby [Dale Jacobson] Getting the info on how it works but will have it going. Working with the Kiwanis, they have their annual breakfast on the same day. 1<sup>st</sup> Saturday after Mothers day….always!</li>
<li>SummerFest [Ragan Andrew<strong>]</strong> Send good wishes to Ragan as she has been sick and in and out of the hospital.</li>
<li>Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau [Holly Beller<strong>]</strong> Vacation planners are here and they are at the Visitors Bureau</li>
<li>Liaison to Long Beach City Council [Steven Linhart] Budget has been improved. 5% increase to water and sewer bills.</li>
<li>City Lodging Tax Advisory Committee [Wayne O’Dell] Steven is now the chair person of the LTAC.</li>
<li>Liaison to Ocean Park, Ilwaco [Laura Price] Ocean park 77 members, chambers line of credit is paid off. Pre work on the chamber website is done, new officers on Jan 15<sup>th</sup>. Ilwaco 8,000 in tourist dollars, changes to the bylaws so that there is individual membership option, Christmas crab pot tree challenged by Westport, WA. Wellsprings have mini grants applications due, clam dates Jan 20<sup>th</sup> and 21<sup>st</sup>.</li>

<p>Gail made mention of how well our community looks at Christmas time compared to other towns on the hwy 101 stretch!</p>

<p>Dale says we have something to be proud of at our LBMA meetings, he has been to the Cathlamet merchants and we do so much for our community and not so much whining about what the city does or doesn’t do.</p>

<p>Steven asked if anyone had more event ideas for the off season to please bring them forward or send them to him. No more events for summer, but we could use more during the off/shoulder seasons.</p>

<li>Holidays at the Beach: Holly Beller: Had a problem with Santa photo’s but was able to redirect people to the photographer’s website which turned out to be better in the long run. Weather took out the set up insides the tents. Had an issue with the tents due to weather/storm. This event needs a permanent spot before next year.  Having decorated tree auction on the 10<sup>th</sup> come down to the Neptune theater 1pm.</li>
<li>White Elephant Ruth Ann Hockings Next Thursday kite Museum at 6pm bring a wrapped gift and favorite dish</li>
<li>Doggie Olympic Games:  Mollie: working with Ilovedogs.com they really want to get involved, working with Beachdog for rat cards and website.</li>

<li>Beach to Chowder Run/Walk article that was in Northwest Runner and there is a really nice write up in it. Timer purchase Jeff is working on.</li>

<li>Loyalty Days [Bob Andrew]<strong> </strong>Applications already 3 bands and second batch of letters</li>
<li>Surf Perch Derby [Dale Jacobson] it is on again and Dale has picked it up for 2012</li>
<li>SummerFest [Ragan Andrew<strong>]</strong>  No report</li>
<li>Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau [Holly Beller<strong>]</strong> 3.5 hour discussion on how they are funded and how to increase funds, most people come from the I-5 corridor. New ways for funding, opening it up to individual membership for people wanting information. Talking about reducing the vacation planner. Visitor counts for 2011…think it was about the same. Down on lodging tax this year, but lot of day trippers. Lots of complements of how well taken care of the city is compared to others.</li>
<li>Liaison to Long Beach City Council [Steven Linhart]<strong> :</strong>made an exception on the size for the sign it will be bigger and also have the quilt shop, the pharmacy and the mall . Due to not covering up the painted murals. Next meeting on Monday budget is up for public review.  No layoffs, no increases to city employees pay, festivals are all funded for next year and the Visitors Bureau.</li>
<li>City Lodging Tax Advisory Committee [Wayne O’Dell] part of the LTAC budget $70,000 is to go after advertising to get more people down here. Meetings Second Tuesday of the month.</li>
<li>Liaison to Ocean Park, Ilwaco [Laura Price] United Way Pacific County $900 donations but 100,000 was funded, liquor law discussed, Ocean Park Chamber has 71 new members, sound system was purchased from donations at the Ocean Park 4<sup>th</sup> of July. Stress Busters class Dec 10<sup>th</sup> Well Springs . lighting of the tree ocean park, Ilwaco dec 3<sup>rd</sup></li>
<li>Lighted Sea serpent is sick and is under warranty it has a short.  It is being taken to Oregon and having it fixed.</li>
<li>Columbia –Pacific Farmers Market [Gayle Borchard] The Market is over but did meet with the vendors and they feel that they would like to close at 6pm. Adding hot food this year, pressure for it to pay for itself. Little package goods from around the peninsula to also be sold at the market. Peggy miles had surgery for cancer, she is up on her feet and she is healthy and strong but keep her in your thoughts.</li>

<p><strong>APPROVAL OF MINUTES  </strong></p>
<p>Minutes had not been read by the membership and so approval was moved to next month.</p>
<p><strong>TREASURER’S REPORT</strong> given by Craig Smith and attached.  Craig also presented the Board’s draft budget for 2012, which will be voted on at the December general meeting.  Questions are welcomed by Board Members.  Event year-end report showed all festivals in the black.</p>
<p><strong>UNFINISHED BUSINESS</strong></p>
<p><strong>Nomination of officers for 2012</strong>.  Merry Scharfe and Steven Linhart were nominated to swap positions for 2012 and accepted.  Treasurer and Secretary positions are open.  Craig Smith and Holly Beller indicated interest in sitting on the Board but not in officer seats.  Jane Holeman was nominated as Treasurer (in abstentia).</p>
<p><strong>NEW BUSINESS<br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong>Food4Kids</strong>.  Natalie Hansen of the Elks Club and Jim Tweedie of the Presbyterian Church gave a presentation on a program begun by Martha Murfin, “Food4Kids”.  The program gives kids that aren’t fed over weekends a backpack of food to take home.  Long Beach Elementary identified 139 students by need.  The program is seeking ongoing food and cash commitments as well as for higher traffic merchants to host donation bins.  For more information, contact Natalie at 642-8244 or Jim at <a href="mailto:obpc@oceanbeachpres.com">obpc@oceanbeachpres.com</a>.</p>
<p>The Board proclaimed Tuesdays at “<strong>Long Beach Merchants Night at the Neptune</strong>”.  Please support your local theater so it can continue to carry first-run movies, which rely on attendance counts.</p>
<p><strong>COMMITTEE REPORTS</strong></p>
<p><strong>Holidays at the Beach.  </strong>Holly reported that it’s time for merchants to decorate for Christmas!  Watch for flyers by email this coming week.  New this year will be a tree auction.  The Cottage Bakery, Re/Max Long Beach, Neptune Theater and beachdog.com, have volunteered to decorate and display trees this year.  The auction will be on Dec 10<sup>th</sup> at 1pm as part of “Peninsula Presents!”.</p>
<p><strong>White Elephant Shindig.  </strong>Ruth Ann passed out flyers for the event, which will be held Thursday, December 8<sup>th</sup> at the Kite Museum beginning at 5:30 pm.  Potluck.  White elephant exchange.  Beer &amp; Wine provided.  Details in a flyer which is posted to longbeachmerchants.com and our facebook page.</p>
<p><strong>Bluegrass Festival.  </strong>Ruth ann reported there will be no event in 2012 and she will make the 2013 decision by May 31<sup>st</sup>.  The problem is that Chautauqua is the only venue that works and they are remodeling and having challenges.  The event needs a venue that holds 600 people, 2 stages, jamming rooms and rooms for the bands at half price.</p>
<p><strong>Beach to Chowder Run/Walk.  </strong>No report.</p>
<p><strong>Doggie Olympic Games.  </strong>Mollie Christianson was introduced as the new chair of the event.  She reported one addition this year will be a dog surfing clinic by Skookum Surf of Seaview.</p>
<p><strong>Sandsations.  </strong>Mollie may have someone who would co-chair with Becky; TBD.</p>
<p><strong>Jake’s Birthday.  </strong>No report.</p>
<p><strong>Kite Festival.</strong> No report.</p>
<p><strong>LBMA Volunteer Recruitment.  </strong>Merry passed around a sampling of ads that will be going into the <em>Chinook Observer</em> and are available for viewing at longbeachmerchants.com and on facebook.com.  The <em>Observer</em> may also be doing a feature story on volunteering, to coordinate with the ad campaign.</p>
<p><strong>OTHER REPORTS</strong></p>
<p><strong>World Kite Museum.  </strong>Merry reported that Bob Milne will again be playing at the Museum on Sunday, November 6<sup>th</sup> at 2pm.  Tickets are $25.  Support the Museum while enjoying the educational and talented Bob Milne, who is a member of the Library of Congress.  Appropriate for all ages.</p>
<p><strong>Loyalty Days.  </strong>Ragan reported this year’s theme will be “Gone, but not forgotten” and will be honoring Special Forces.  No Loyalty Day Court this year.</p>
<p><strong>Surf Perch Derby.</strong> No report.</p>
<p><strong>SummerFest. </strong>Ragan reported she is working on budget for 2012.</p>
<p><strong>Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau. </strong>Keleigh reported the Pocket Calendars are available for pickup.</p>
<p><strong>Liaison to Long Beach City Council. </strong>Steven noted a new event to take place August 4-5, 2012, “Tinkertown Throwdown”, a personal watercraft event.  This is a race course, with buoys, for wave runners, etc.  The City is in the budget process and meets with Lodging Tax Advisory on Monday, Nov 7, 5-7pm for a workshop.  All merchants are encouraged to attend.  The Depot building has been re-sided.  The new playground equipment is installed and getting good feedback.  Mayor Andrew has collected money from Merchants and purchased 40 pre-lit snowflakes to hang on the light poles downtown.</p>
<p><strong>City Lodging Tax Advisory Committee.  </strong>Note budget workshop mentioned above.</p>
<p><strong>Liaison to Ocean Park &amp; Ilwaco.  </strong>Laura gave a comprehensive report on the goings on at the Ocean Park Area Chamber and Ilwaco Merchants meetings.</p>
<p><strong>Membership.</strong> Pay your dues!  Steven sent out 320 invoices and letters. We are currently at 50 paid members; goal this year is 75.  Dues are to be paid by Dec 31<sup>st</sup>.</p>
<p><strong>EDC Business of the Year.  </strong>Merry reported on a great evening and extended congratulations to our LBMA Business of the Year, Peninsula Golf Course / Jim and Sondra Eaton.</p>

Merry had Hungry Harbor and Peninsula Golf has been mentioned to her. Holly Beller nominated and Ragan Andrew 2<sup>nd</sup> for Hungary harbor</p>
<p>Jerry Phillips nominated Peninsula Golf and Mike Littaw 2<sup>nd</sup> Vote was taken and Peninsula Golf Course won by a land slide. Steven will inform the owners.<strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><br />

<p>Heather Ramson has new business in town NEVA Green: she sells the things she makes like jewelry purses and tin smiting, and also selling new and old things with a green twist.</p>

<p>Tracy from the Port of Ilwaco: 1<sup>st</sup> meeting and will start being here</p>

<p>Merry: working with Keilgh from Beachdog to get more people involved with the LBMA and with the festivals, they will be putting adds in the paper. Tracy asked that Merry please include the Childrens Parade in this so that it can get more help. Mike asked is there a formal torch to be passed for Event heads?</p>

<li>Doggie Olympic Games [Mike Litawa] have a member ready to take over the event, Mike is going to work on putting the budget together</li>
<li>SandSations [Becky Johnson] They are looking for a new event chair for this event and it needs to happen this event cannot go forward if it does not have a chair person. Deadline for finding a chair person…Merry and Steven have to find out. Right now they are going forward as if they are going to have a chair person. There is a budget in place at this time, Becky said she would help out with whoever takes it over</li>
<li>Jake’s Birthday [Wendy Murry) Numbers up on money and attendance. Successful and happy with how it went and looking forward to it being bigger and better next year</li>
<li>Kite Festival [Jane Holeman ) already working on t-shirts for next year</li>
<li>Holidays at the Beach (Holly Beller) tree donations, decorate the tree auctions wants to work with groups like B&amp;G. 36 snowflakes purchased for the mayor and possible dolphins.</li>

<li>Liaison to Long Beach City Council [Steven Linhart] The gentlemen that has been selling pizza at the park is going in next door, new playground equipment being worked on, possible talk of moving the skate park, snowflakes are going where the flags are on the lamp posts, long beach Inn have been redone and making it. Budget will be working on in November you are encouraged to show up and find out what is going on. 366 member ship went out Monday and 8 came back already.</li>
<li>Kite Museum [Kay Buesing] One world One sky kite fly, started in 1983 because a woman thought we should have communication with Russia. This weekend is peninsula Art association. Sherry hash concert with Bob Mill benefit in November for the kite museum.</li>
<li>Loyalty Days [Bob Andrew ) Ragan coronation is October 15<sup>th</sup> this is the last Roalty Court program unless if anyone wants to take it on.</li>

<li>Long Beach Peninsula Visitors Bureau [Holly Beller] <strong> </strong>Wa Parks up 25 %this summer best attendance for the concerts yet, lighthouse open soon, Park pass go to the website, Award to Denis company for change of the good redoing the mural, two press trips scheduled for October and November, encouraged to trip advisor to see what people are saying online about you.</li>
<li>City Lodging Tax Advisory Committee [Wayne O’Dell]  representing everyone in the process of funding and moving forward, looking at adding more funding for marketing for the city and peninsula. Craig Thanks to the LTAC for helping the Events, because of that they have been in the black.</li>
<li>Liaison to Ocean Park, Ilwaco [Laura Price] Plug for the food bank…they are way down and need help. Ilwaco mayor said they should ask about funds from LB LTAC, blues and sea food was nominated for muddy water award (blues award), paving the rest of the Beards Hollow trail so if they do a marathon. OP: 40 businesses signed up although there was 80 last year, Op food bank is doing bags that you put at your house to put it in, Long Beach grange is doing a auction to support the Farm to school. Shleburn event Friday, Mike myers are doing the 2<sup>nd</sup> annual pumpkin patch(see flyer)Mayor donated of his own money to buy the 300 pumpkins.  Tracy food bank really needs help, Tuna classic is going to be an Ilwaco event and they donated the tuna to the food bank, they are looking at making the event longer…Last weekend of july. Lighted boats, crab pot tree, encourage those with a boat to join in.</li>

<li>SandSations [Becky Johnson] Merry reporting this year if sand in the city does not make money or break even then it will not happen next year. Stroganoff dinner at the Elks tonight fundraiser, Chili cook off fundraiser.</li>
<li>Jake’s Birthday [Wendy Murry) Rat cards, Pod cast form Viva Las Vegas and Jake event was mentioned.</li>
<li>Kite Festival [Jane Holeman ) Moving right along guests are confirmed and tickets paid for. </li>

Job duration is 6 months and can’t work afternoons on Fridays or weekends.  Web report= web traffic up in March (7000 unigue visitors in 4 hours in March 11<sup>th</sup>). 4<sup>th</sup> of July committee is looking for volunteers. Chinook Gym will be opening in June for activities (no dedication date yet). Adrift hotel plans to have some rooms available soon, with all completed by July 4<sup>th</sup>, Will offer spa, possible exercise facility, new conference space, and is family and pet friendly.</p>

<p>Beach to Chowder Run/Walk [Sherry Hash] Ad’s are out  they are partnering with Ragan &amp; Summerfest for entertainment</p>
<p>Doggie Olympic Games [Mike Litawa] <strong>:</strong> Meeting Thursday at 5 breakers. Print materials done and ads are setup</p>
<p>SandSations [Becky Johnson] Sand artist for children’s area classes on the beach. Moose lodge will be doing a fundraiser. Chili cook off and Fundraiser raffle planned. Una questioned budget Craig clarified. .</p>
<p>Jake’s Birthday [Wendy Murry) *Crickets chirping* – I was taking minutes and was not prepared.</p>
<p>Kite Festival [Jane Holeman] Shirts look great everything is on track.</p>

<p>Loyalty Days [Bob Andrew] is a month away everything is on track &#8211; Parade has 70 units, the speaker     is on his way he will be comped at the Worldmark</p>

<p>Una was delighted to say Edgewater sale is complete and Cathy Bonnie is official out front at VB</p>
