<p>CEO since Nov 1 – closed first quarter of 2013 in the black!  Focusing on local services, June 11 will begin Urology from Longview Urology.  Women’s Health Services being negotiated.  35-40% of patients are from here.  Cardiology services have located a partner with St. Johns and peace health group for a weekly visit.  Set up for diagnostic services as well.  Primary care – actively recruiting for more primary care.  Same day appts are available but fill quickly.  Survey says that 75% of the peninsula goes elsewhere for services.  Electronic medical record system price tag was 860k but needed to be done before government penalties are assessed.  Records will be portable to other caregivers.  Hope to be live in November.</p>

<p>Teaching Basic Training for Managers and Supervisors and is offering to all in the community.  12 hour class.  Cost is by donation.</p>

<li>NAMI National Alliance for the Mentally Ill – support group for fam/friends.  Meets once a month at the church center 4<sup>th</sup> Tue at 4pm with special speakers.  Sat the 18<sup>th</sup> is the 4<sup>th</sup> annual NAMI walk starts at Bolstad and down the trail.  60 million adults affected by this.  T-shirts done by Ilwaco Industries.</li>

<li>Long Beach Elk’s Lodge [Maiko Minami (BPOE No 1937)]May 3 Oyster Feed open to public, Mothers Day brunch, May 27<sup>th</sup> Memorial Day cemetery visit from Oysterville to Ilwaco with luncheon afterwards.  Fundraiser on June 15 – Food for kids backpack Program.  Feed 60-65 elem school kids weekly through school year. Cost is 15k per year and is run solely by donations, grants and fundraising.  Asking for sponsors for $100 for golf tourney</li>
<li>WellSpring Community Network [Geri Marcus] Wellspring is a group of agencies and individuals that meet together and work towards comm. Wellness, prevention, youth and mental health focus.  Recent events brought in lots of donations for Town Hall and Volunteer Fair.  180 people attended.  RX drop off day.  One of the few towns that have a primary drop off location available all year long.  Breakfast after Prom held was well attended in part by The Lost Roo.</li>

<li><strong><em>Gardening with Cisco Gift Basket/Donation</em></strong> – Cisco will be here June 9 and staying at Boreas – fundraiser for the Boys &amp; Girls Club with a presentation at the Elks Lodge.  Motion to approve $100 contribution to assist in the cost of hosting, second by Laura Price, all in favor, none opposed.</li>
<li><strong><em>Upcoming Events Banner</em></strong> &#8211; Reason for new banner is due to cost of city crew to put the individual banners up and down as well as condition of current banners.  Cost for individual banner about 1k, new proposal is about $200.  Show of hands for choice of title to be “Coming Events” or “Join the fun in Long Beach” – Join the fun in Long Beach was chosen by great majority.  Deadline in one week, please look at color preferences and let Ragan know asap.  Contact Gary about including Garlic Festival.  Gary was happy that we are including anything of OP on the banner.</li>

<p>WTA – 1.25m bi-annual funding to service funding and midterm goals to have WTA self-sustaining and not relying on state funding, but we need the funds to get started!  ONLY STATE IN THE NATION WITH NO TOURISM FUNDING!  Please contact legislature that we want the bridge funding to continue tourism representation.  Chelsea Libby requested a letter to be drafted – but time is of the essence, get on the phone send emails.  Blake and Takko supportive, but not spoken to Hatfield</p>

<li>Trolley &amp; Merchant Training:  In order to utilize the trolley and familiarize merchants with tourist activities, the City of Long Beach is working on a trolley tour of the area to highlight points of interest that tourists and your clientele may have interest in.  We hope to have one before spring break!</li>

<li>SummerFest/Farmer’s Market [Ragan Andrew (City of Long Beach)]   Summer fest schedule is under construction and should be done by May 1st.  Katie Haskin is the new farmer’s market manager, been here for 18 years from Kansas so familiar with farming and growing and wants to expand the market in its third year.  Lots of return vendors, but discussions regarding including farm based crafts has been in favor.  Ex goat milk soap, cranberry vine baskets, hand spun wool and socks, gloves etc.  Coordinating with City of Long Beach and SummerFest for weekly activities and kid friendly crafts.  Like us on Facebook!  We need volunteers!  Hours are 4-7 this year June 14 Friday thru Oct 11.  Volunteers for on the street to waive people in, corners of field taking head count and greeting, help with kids events and coordinate entertainment on stage, help for vendors.</li>

<p>Requested another body for site visit – Board Member Mike Myers volunteered.  Lacie DeWitt, Steven Linhart and Craig Smith viewed our current trailers at the shop for measurements and condition.  New trailers will probably require modification and Peninsula Sheet Metal is on board.  Funds for purchase of new trailers are coming mainly from the past sale of the Merchant storage property.</p>

<li>2013 General Budget Q&amp;A</li>
</ul>
<p>Gayle Borchard inquired what the Professional Fees represented.  A. Mainly is the cost of our professional accountant.</p>
<p>Bob Andrews asked where the LBMA storage unit is held and if we have covered parking for the new trailers as it will greatly increase the life span and usability.  A. LBMA storage unit is located at the Sandridge RV &amp; Boat Storage.  Our current unit is fully enclosed.  It was agreed that a covered area for the trailers would be very useful.  Vice President Steven Linhart requested Bob Andrews to inquire upon additional cost.</p>

<p>In past – Dennis Company took part in the Ocean Shores Clam Festival.  Long Beach Clam Festival is reemerging on April 27<sup>th</sup>.  Clam digging lessons on am 27/28 of April.  Vendors will be present at Dennis Co who specializes in equipment and will have special prizes.  Fish and Wildlife will be present with a clam digging display.  Prizes for largest and best looking clam.  Clam gun decorating contest with the local elementary schools.  Clam gun decorating contest display location to be announced.  There will be a clam chowder cook-off with local restaurants organized by Nancy Gorshe.  Any restaurant can participate.  Contact Nancy at The Depot.   Clam shirts design by Don Nisbett.</p>

<p>Chairpeople need to review the Chinook Observer publication dates for accuracy before going to print this month.  target market for this publication is to Seattle/Portland markets.  Locals will also have access to copies of the guide and requests should be made to the Chinook Observer for extra copies.</p>
<p><strong>NEW BUSINESS </strong></p>
<p>2013 LBMA budget is complete and passed out for review by the members.  Questions and discussions will be held in February, with adoption thereafter if all is well.  A question was brought up on the membership dues figure.  Ruth Ann explained that the figure came from 2011, and the 2013 figure should be reached without issue.  (2013 dues and applications went out late, please make sure to return in a timely manner!)  Total members for 2012 was 75, 2013 YTD 38.</p>
<p>2013 meeting dates and times have been uploaded to the website.  All board meetings will be held at Bensons, with general meetings alternating between Bensons and the Lighthship.  Monthly reminders will also be sent.</p>
<p>Lea with PCEMA needs volunteers to clean up tsunami debris on the beaches.  Dept. of Ecology has magnets available with the number to call if debris is found.  More can be found at City Hall.  Next beach clean up is Jan 19!</p>

<p><strong></strong><strong></strong>Review of <em>Pacific Mobile Structures </em>options for replacement of two LBMA trailers used for merchant sales at events.  Motion to approve board make a purchase of two new trailers by Holly Beller, second by Jerry Phillips.  All in favor, none opposed.</p>
<p>Review of <em>Our Coast </em>ad for placement in the Chinook Observer visitor&#8217;s guide publication.  Request by Ragan Myers to have the ad enlarged into poster size for downtown merchant display, and distribution in Astoria/Warrenton areas.  {request member Midway Printery to bid}  Bob Andrews requested that we look into a full page ad and sell sponsor spots on the border to offset cost and highlight members of the LBMA at the same time.  Cost of ad is about $800, budget for 2013 is about $1000.  Motion to approve by Mike Myers, second by Bob Pensworth.  All in favor, none opposed.</p>

<p>Nikki OMG – weather was not at all cooperative for Harvest Food Bank event still $545 and 1063lbs of food for OP thanks in big part to OP elementary they really stepped up and did a great job! Ilwaco 720lbs and $730 this year was a much bigger success and Nikki plans to continue with the event hopes it becomes a oct event people will plan on.</p>
