Clam digging tides must be approved by the fish and game department.
Each person must provide their own:
• clam license - All diggers age 15 or older must have an applicable fishing license to harvest razor clams on any beach. Fishing licenses for the season expire March 31. New licenses for the new season starting April 1 are available online (https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov)
• clam shovel or clam gun
• bucket or clam net - Under state law, diggers can take 15 razor clams per day and are required to keep the first 15 they dig. Each digger's clams must be kept in a separate container. Please dress for the conditions: coats or jackets, hats, rain gear, etc. Rubber boots are a good idea but not required. If you will be digging with a shovel it is also a good idea to wear sleeves that can be rolled up and pants that you don't mind getting dirty (at least on one knee).
